An amazing large antique Heriz carpet, woven around 120 years ago and full of beautiful rich natural dyes we would expect from this fabulous weaving area in the north of Persia. We love Heriz when they have the four white corner spandrels, this always lifts the palette and allows the pale blues, greens and golden yellows to shine and enhance the composition of the carpet.  With large scale leaves and floral motifs, geometric in style, this Heriz carpet has been drawn with expertise and woven with skill from the best weavers around the turn of the 20th century.

Object Condition

It is getting increasingly rare to find antique Heriz carpets of this quality in such original condition.  The pile height is dense and the weave is very fine too, a tough and sturdy piece, ideal for a drawing room, dining room, study or entrance hall, supplied with our excellent underlay, this helps the carpet to stay flat on any floor type, enhancing its appearance too.
