This Heriz runner is a rich and warm red coloured antique runner in very good condition. The condition is excellent, and this runner dates from the early 20th century, circa 1910-1920 with very good wool pile throughout and complete ends and selvedges. This runner is wonderful in it’s design and was woven with a wonderful variety of colours, terracotta/red tones, blues, green and yellowsin very good condition and long! The design of this Heriz runner is typical of runners from this region, with a repeating eight-star medallion, linked together with the pale blue vine.
Heriz is not far from the Azerbaijan Border so they draw influences from many Caucasian rugs and runners. They are easily recognisable with repeating medallions similar to those in caucasian rugs. A very solid and useable Heriz runner, perfect for a busy hallway to add charm and colour.
