Object Description

A wonderful vibrant antique Heriz runner woven in the early 20th century in good condition, with a very good soft wool pile throughout and complete ends and selvedges.  This runner is wonderful in it’s design and was woven with a wonderful variety of colours, terracotta/red tones, blues, green and yellow dyes.  The design of this Heriz runner is typical of runners from this region, with a repeating eight-star medallion, with scattered diamond and various other motifs.

Heriz is not far from the Azerbaijan Border so they draw influences from many Caucasian rugs and runners. They are easily recognisable with repeating medallions similar to those in caucasian rugs.  A very solid and useable Heriz runner, perfect for a busy hallway to add charm and colour.

Please request a home visit to arrange a time for us to show you this antique Heriz runner in situ, so you can see if the size, colour and design works in your home.  We would love to help you find the ideal runner for your home and we love to travel all over the UK visiting customers.  Alternatively please do come and visit our barn showroom in the picturesque village of Crondall in Surrey.
