Object Description
This beautiful table-top was crafted in Italy in the late 19th Century. It is decorated with a geometric pattern which was created by inlaying a variety of variegated marbles.
The table-top is large and rectangular in shape. Its middle panel features a central yellow-red oval flanked by two red-white rectangles. Blue medallions run in a line between these shapes, and black and grey-white medallions are placed above and below them. These designs are offset against a red background. They are contained within a geometric border with black square corners and sides composed of yellow, white and orange ovals, shaped red squares and yellow-red rectangles. This is framed by an outer red-brown border with a black and grey edge.
