Jade Chinese Archers Ring.
In Ancient China, thumb rings were worn by Archers to take the strain of the cords and bows as they drew them .
As Archery was considered a noble sporting exercise Jade thumb rings were worn as a symbol of elevated social status and worn specifically to signify military rank or in religious sects.
Dated 18th century to early 19th century.
