Object Description

Beautiful shrub design on this intricate antique Josheghan rug from northern Persia.  Dating from the early 20th century it is in fantastic condition, these rugs are known for their fine weave and array of diamond designs.  The diamond arrangements on these fine antique rugs are really stunning, with a varying array of oranges, blues, purples and reds.  The green shrub trees and intricate rainbow coloured corner designs are add to this rugs charm.

Woven in villages and workshops these tribal weavers use fine quality wool and often are known as Maymeh rugs too.  Rugs have been woven in this area since the 16th century, timeless designs and colours that work in traditional and modern homes today.

Object Condition

Very nice condition, a fine wool pile with original ends and selvedges. Great wool pile all over.
