Object Description
An antique pair of French Louis XVI Revival ormolu mounted pink and white Variegated marble Neo Classical table lamps, Circa 1860 in date.
The pair are of baluster form with twin scroll ormolu handles and ormolu cartouches, raised on circular rosettes socles on square plinths with ormolu mounts and ormolu ball feet.
They are delightful objects which will look fabulous in any surroundings.
They were later converted to electricity from marble urns in the early 19th Century.
Condition:
In really excellent working condition having been beautifully cleaned and professionally rewired in our workshops, please see photos for confirmation.

Ormolu
(from French ‘or moulu’, signifying ground or pounded gold) is an 18th-century English term for applying finely ground, high-carat gold in a mercury amalgam to an object of bronze.The mercury is driven off in a kiln leaving behind a gold-coloured veneer known as ‘gilt bronze’.
