Object Description
Circa 1880, pair of satinwood bedside cabinets. The rectangular tops in figured satinwood, above a unique combination of 2 small drawers flanked by a panelled cupboard, with finely carved bun handles. There is a further mahogany lined drawer, and cupboard. The drawers with brass handles and are stamped ‘M. Woodburn, Liverpool’, and flanked with pilasters with foliate and urn carvings. All on moulded, enclosed plinth bases. There is little documentation on M. Woodburn, however they were an ‘Art Cabinet Maker & Upholsterer’ in operation c.1890 from 45 Mount Pleasant, Liverpool.
