This wool rug is a fine example of an Antique Persian Sarouk Rug, featuring an ivory central field which holds the detailed central medallion and surrounding details and motifs. This is then enclosed by a blue then a peach field both decorated with the same high-quality details. This intricate design is then enclosed with a highly detailed repeat pattern border that draws the eye in. This antique Persian rug was handwoven by master weavers in Persia with handspun wool, circa 1880. All of the colours in this rug come from natural vegetable dying techniques.
