Object Description
This fine antique writing or/sofa table has been made from beautifully figured rosewood timbers with a highly polished top, of elegant proportions and excellent colour and patina.
It was made by the famous furniture makers ‘Gillows’ and is a recognized design of theirs. The table is stamp marked ‘Gillows’ to the top edge of the right drawer.
The top has a ‘bull nose’ moulded edge with rounded corners below which are fitted two drawers to the front. This is supported by boldly turned and carved end standards with carved cabriole legs terminating in hairy paw feet with the original hidden castors.
This antique Gillows writing table is of the best quality and made to the highest standards of craftsmanship. A beautiful table that would make a stunning focal point to any room in a contemporary or traditional styled setting.
