This is a magnificent set of four antique Italian oil on canvas paintings of the Four Seasons by Guiseppe Mazzolini (1806 – 1876), signed.
These stunning paintings features four portraits of beautiful young women emblematic of the four seasons:
The Four Seasons paintings include the Spring Goddess, adorned with flowers and flowing drapery, symbolizing renewal; the Summer Goddess, with bountiful fruits and light attire, radiating warmth; the Autumn Goddess, dressed in harvest garments, representing maturity and abundance; and the Winter Goddess, wrapped in a cloak.
They are each housed within stunning Italian Florentine carved and gilded scrolling foliate frames.

Giuseppe Mazzolini
was born in Camerino in the Italian province of Macerata on November 10, 1806. A professional artist, Mazzolini was renowned for his outstanding copies of Old Master paintings and for his sensitive portraiture. Giuseppe Mazzolini died in Rome on February 2, 1876.
Very little is known about the life of the artist. There is an early reference to the work of Giuseppe Mazzolini in the Diario di Roma of 1828 (vol. 53). Mazzolini is also referenced in A. M. Comanducci, Illustrated Dictionary of Artists, Designers and Engravers – Italian Modern and Contemporary.
