Object Description
1808 Sampler by Elizabeth Witham. Framed in an old wood frame with gilt slip and glass. Mounted to conservator standards on acid free card with chipboard backing. The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in a variety of stitches. Meandering floral border. Colours greens, yellow, copper, white, black, red and pink. Verse reads’Eternal God in thee I trust>That Thou art Holy good and Just>The rolling Years proclaim>Amidst Con?ulsions new and strange>Thou canst not err and wilt not change>thy love is still the same’.
