Object Description
A superb and extensive Edwardian silver flatware service for 12 all made in 1903-04 by Walker & Hall of Sheffield and in its original five draw oak canteen box.
The knives are more modern sterling silver with stainless blades, as the original knives were ivory with carbon steel blades (pre 1913 knives are subject to staining and rusting).
The whole set is in excellent condition and is extremely extensive with many serving pieces.
It is unusual in that the service is all made in the same years 1903-04 by the same maker (sets such as these are increasingly hard to find – and remarkable value if one could imagine the price of a new set such as this).
