Object Description
A rare antique George III snuffer of oval form, with silver handles and a steel cutting mechanism.
The antique silver tray has flaring sides with a beaded rim, and is pierced with urns, bright-cut engraved borders, flower garlands and a lovely family crest to the centre.
The snuffer was made by John Buckett and the tray by Thomas Chawner.
John Buckett was a specialist wick trimmer and snuffer maker. Thomas Chawner would have purchased this from him, as he was not a specialist in this class of object.
Dimensions: width (of snuffer) 15.87 cm
