Object Description
A fine and large antique silver box finely decorated with a hunting scene in the 16th/17th century taste.
The box was made in Hanau, Germany exclusively for the English market as it bears the London importers mark for Israel Segalov, who traded as a jeweller and silversmith at Black Lion Yard in London’s Whitechapel.
It bears his mark as importer for London 1924 and also the marks of the Hanau silversmith.
The box has a finely gilded interior and is in superb condition.
It would be useful for a variety of purposes or just as a very decorative and unusual box.
Dimensions: height 5.5 cm, length 21 cm, width 13.7 cm; weight 25 troy oz.
