Object Description
This is an exquisite Scotish antique old silver plate salver bearing the makers mark for Fenton Russel & Co C1880
The rectangular salver features elegant highly decorated raised pie crust border surounding a hand chased foliate engraving and sits on four cast claw feet.
The centre has the inscription:
‘PRESENTED ALONG WITH A PURSE OF SOVEREIGNS TO
MDH SUTHERLAND
BY THE OFFICERS CREWS & FRIENDS
ON OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT
AFTER 48 YEARS OF SERVICE
8TH JANUARY 1907’
