Object Description
Striking yellow ‘Star’ Kazak with excellent glossy wool used in the Kazak region in the Caucasus. The yellow dye is a saffron dye and is often regarded as an early dye in Caucasian weavings. Woven by semi-nomadic shepherds in the highland area of the Caucasus whose centre is the town of Kazak. They use fabulous vegetable dyes and high quality hand spun wool from their own herd.
