Object Description
An exceptionally good quality 18th century black walnut game carrier, having a bar handle with swinging brass hinges, that is above a twin aperture platform with a sprung brass plate to each end to retain the game. It has a rich dark colour, as found with black walnut, and an excellent patination.
Black walnut (Juglans Nigra) is a native tree to North America and was an important wood commercially, used by cabinet makers for furniture and occasionally items of treen.
