Object Description

A manual trumpet shaped foetal heart midwifery stethoscope, having a medium colour and retaining a patination. The stethoscope was invented by Rene Laennec in 1818 and he published his findings in 1819. He was then appointed Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Paris University.
