Object Description
A 19th century pocket snuff box carved from a coquilla nut, having a beautifully carved lid with a metal hinge, that has intricate open work depicting a dog at the foot of a draped cross with fruiting grape vines to either side. The back and ends are also deeply carved with leaves and detailed miscellaneous designs. The whole has an excellent rich colour and patination.
