Object Description
An attractive early 19th century coquilla nut muffineer in two screw sections, having a perforated rounded top that has a rope twist collar, which is above an intricately carved body seated on a later mahogany square concave platform base. Muffineers were used for sprinkling spices, peppers and sugar and were also made from various different woods such as lignum vitae, fruitwoods and sycamore etc. often following the same designs as silver casters.
