Object Description
A fine example of a 19th century circular pine Norwegian porridge pot, having a handled lid held securely in place by a pine dowel and wooden toggle. The pine staves are banded with two twin bands of willow, as often found on Scottish items of treen. The whole, including the chamfered lid, has carved pin prick decoration all over. The underside has a simple carved flower head and it has a medium colour, retaining a historic varnished finish.
