Object Description
A most pleasing example of a decorated palm wood decoy duck, which were associated with Spain and the Mediterranean coast, being also made of a lighter wood in America, Britain, France, Belgium and the Netherlands. American models are easily recognisable by their sleeker tails and humped backs. Pre 1880 they tended to have painted cut out or carved eyes as in this instance. Shot holes add character and appeal, showing that they have been used for their original purpose!
