Object Description

A Victorian yew wood Bilboquet, also known as a cup and ball, which was popularised in the late 16th century in France by Henry III and it became a craze with all classes of the population throughout the world. The aim is to swing the ball into the cup, which is more difficult than it looks. They were mostly made of boxwood and are of all various sizes. This yew wood example has a good colour, grain and patination.
