Object Description
A good medium sized mid 18th century lignum vitae pestle and mortar, which has a flat protruding rim on the mortar that is above a central band, which is above a concave stem with a stepped, rounded and vertical foot. The original pestle is of traditional form and has a well turned shaped handle of matching proportions. The whole has an excellent rich colour and patination.
