Object Description
This is a wonderful, large antique Victorian Egyptian revival inkstand by the Sheffield silversmith Henry Wilkinson & Co, Circa 1890 in date.
It features a pair of cut glass detachable inkwells with a central trinket box featuring a beautiful sphinx sculpture on the lid.
It has a decorative pair of mask handles and is raised on superb bracket feet.

Henry Wilkinson & Co
was a prominent 19th-century silversmith and plater based in Norfolk Street, Sheffield. Famous for its sterling silver, Old Sheffield Plate, and early electroplated wares, the firm exhibited at the 1851 Great Exhibition and was later acquired by Walker & Hall in 1892
