Object Description
A fine quality Victorian solid mahogany shove half penny board, having a rectangular shape with a carved and arched top edge. It has incised horizontal dividing lines in the usual manner and a slate vertical panel to each side to record the score, which is an unusual feature we have not come across before. These boards were often found in inns and public houses for people to pass away the time or to hold a competition. The whole has a good rich colour and retains a patination. It includes 10 coins.
