An antique Victorian sterling silver cutlery set which has been designed in the Fiddle pattern style for twelve persons. This original silver cutlery set was hallmarked in London for 1872 by George Adams. It is rare to find a straight set of the same date and maker in the Victorian period. The set consists of:
12 x table forks: 20.4 cms (8″) in length
12 x dessert forks: 17.3 cms (6.8″)
12 x table (soup) spoons: 22.9 cms (9″)
12 x dessert spoons: 18.1 cms (7.1″)
12 x teaspoons: 14.3 cms (5.6″)
1 x soup ladle: 33.4 cms (13.1″)
1 x basting (serving) spoon: 30.2 cms (11.9″)
1 x sugar tongs: 15.1 cms (5.9″)
2 x salt spoons: 10.5 cms (4.1″)
12 x table knives: 24.7 cms (9.7″)
12 x dessert knives: 22.2 cms (8.7″)
This wonderful silver set would grace any dining table and would be a pleasure to use. It has been well cared for over the years and remains in pristine condition. The silver handled knives with stainless steel blades were made in 2022 and have the hallmarks of the late Queen’s platinum jubilee and compliment this fiddle pattern set perfectly. Useful wraps have been supplied to help keep this set neat and tidy and the set weighs 112.3 troy ounces (3,492 grams) without the silver handled knives.
