Object Description
An antique Victorian sterling silver canteen of cutlery designed in the Kings pattern style for twelve persons. It has been made to the highest standard and remains in excellent condition. It consists of:

This wonderful set sits neatly in a Mahogany box measuring 45 cms (17.7″) x 32.5 cms (12.7″) x 24 cms (9.5″). Both the quality and condition are excellent and it has been well cared for over the years. The box has been re-lined and re-fitted to make it look more presentable and the cutlery ranges in dates from 1891 to 1896 and was made by George Maudsley Jackson and Aldwinckle & Slater. The Kings pattern silver handled knives with stainless blades, which match the set perfectly, were made in Sheffield for 1964/5 by Harrison Brothers & Howson and were originally sold in Harrods, London.
The total weight of the silver cutlery is 156.9 troy ounces (4,879 grams) without the knives and box. There are intertwined initials on the brass plaque on top of the box.
