Object Description
Ceylon sapphire and diamond flanked solitaire ring. Set to centre with an oval old cut natural unenhanced Ceylon sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 7.65 carats, flanked by six square step cut diamonds in open back rubover settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.60 carats, to an impressive flanked solitaire design featuring curving claws and polished edges, a structural openwork gallery and geometric open backholing, leading to raised shoulders and flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold and platinum, circa 1920, accompanied by SSEF report #131305.
