Object Description
Art Deco diamond and sapphire cluster ring. Centrally set with a round old cut diamond in an open back rubover setting with an approximate weight of 0.30 carats, surrounded by thirty six round old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.40 carats, bordered by thirty six calibre step cut natural unenhanced sapphires in open back channel settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.70 carats, flanked by six round single cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.10 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.80 carats, to an elegant octagonal cluster featuring a fine radiating openwork design with millegrain edging, an intricately pierced scrolling gallery and geometric open backholing, leading to trumpeting shoulders and flowing down to a solid D-shape shank. Tested platinum, circa 1925.
