Object Description
Art Deco diamond cluster ring. Set to centre with a round old cut diamond, H colour, VS2 clarity, with an approximate weight of 2.01 carats in an open back claw setting, flanked by eight square step cut diamonds in open back rubover settings with a combined weight of 0.80 carats, surrounded by a cluster of round old cut diamonds in graduating sizes in open back grain settings, twenty six in total with a combined weight of 1.10 carat. The total approximate diamond weight is 3.90 carats, to an impressive cluster design featuring curving claws, millegrain borders, with a pierced conforming gallery and intricate fancy open backholing, flanked by trumpeting shoulders with ridged detail, flowing through to a solid tapered D-shape shank. Tested platinum, circa 1935, accompanied by a Gemmological Institute of America (GIA) report #2205325897.
