Object Description
A stunning French Art Deco glazed pottery sculpture of a circus elephant balanced on a ball dating from around 1925. The figure made from a terracotta colored clay portrays an elephant balanced on rounded ball mounted on a square shaped pedestal base. The elephant holds it trunk curled upwards and resting on its head and is decorated in speckled brown and grey glazes with white tusks and black painted eyes. The ball is decorated in light blue drip glazes run down over an even deep blue glaze which is also applied to the base. The figure is not marked.
