A rare Necklace & Bracelet formed of ‘ivory’ & black Galalith panels strung on elastic.
Of strong geometric design emphasised by the use of bold contrasting colours.

Object History

The firm of Auguste Bonaz specialised in ornaments for the hair-combs & clips.
During the 1920s they begun to design & produce bold modernist design jewels utilising panels of Galalith,drilled & strung on elastic without the need to incorporate metal elements to connect the sections therefore giving the opportunity to create jewels with smooth blocks of contrasting colour which are sculptural in feel.

Object Literature

The firm of Augusts Bonaz is referred to in many publications devoted to the Art Deco period of design.
