Object Description
Art Deco sugarloaf cabochon sapphire and diamond ring. Set to centre with an oval sugarloaf cabochon natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 3.50 carats, flanked by six arrow head shape baguette cut diamonds in open back rubover settings with a combined approximate weight of of 0.38 carats, further adorned with eight tapered baguette cut diamonds in open back rubover settings with a combined weight of 0.27 carats, further set to top and bottom with a square step cut diamond in an open back rubover setting, two in total with a combined weight of 0.10 carats, flanked further by two baguette cut diamonds in openback rubover settings with a combined weight of 0.10 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.85 carats, to an impressive cluster design with curving split claws, structured openwork collet and fancy open backholing, the trumpeting diamond set shoulders terminate before leading through to a solid D-shaped shank. Marked platinum, circa 1925, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #80239-01.
