Daum,
Maitres Verriers,1870-1980,
Were one of the most important art glass firms in France.
Initially famous for their cameo & internally decorated pieces particularly during the Art Nouveau period, they continued to move with the current directions in the decorative arts & during the 1920s & 1930s a collection was created displaying striking geometric patterns with the use of acid etched decoration & a very bold palette of ground colours.
There are also pieces using other decorative techniques during this period, including internal bubbles & the introduction of metallic flecks into the moulton glass to enhance the refractive properties of the glass.
