Object Description
A very rare large decorative fusee wall clock, 26″ in diameter, dating from the 1890s.
The copper surround houses a dial in relief with illuminated numerals and bold Arts and Crafts styled copper hands.
The white enamel dial is marked Sir William Bailey’s Patent. It has a raised edge supporting 12 sand-blasted glass circles, painted with black Roman numerals, each separately back-lit with an electrical bulb.
The 8-day chain fusee timepiece movement has a platform escapement, with very long winding key.
