Object Description

A handsome antique English oak fireplace beam carved in the arts and crafts style, perfect for an inglenook fireplace. With its medium golden oak colour, this reclaimed oak fireplace beam will look stunning in any style of interior, from period cottage living rooms and Victorian townhouses, to neutral modern properties and contemporary barn conversions.

It comes with two corbels as pictured but the beam could be used alone without these depending on your interior vision.

Made from solid English oak, this fireplace beam is a generous 1.8cm long and has a slightly arched profile. Dating from the arts and crafts period, the ends of the mantel are each handcarved with a Tudor rose alongside a bouquet of Scottish thistles, wheat sheafs and oak leaves to the end blocks, adding a flourish of personality to this antique oak mantelpiece beam.

Beam only: H18.7 cm (approx as is curved)
Corbels (2pc): H17 x W15 x D25.5 cm
Approx. 5.5 cm depth to be built into masonry, but could alternatively be attached directly to the wall.

Object Condition

Good structural condition. Stripped finish; could be waxed, stained or left as is. Transports as 3 pieces: beam + 2 corbels.
