A delightfully cheerful mechanical bird in a round cage with a round spun brass base, dating from the mid twentieth century. The bird has its original plumage and the beak, head and tail articulate exactly as the maker intended.
The mechanics are very well engineered. The bellows are particularly large and in perfect condition.
The material on the base has not been changed, and is the original. Similarly, it has almost all of its foliage. So this is a particularly good example of an automaton bird in a cage from this era.
As shown in the video, both the bird and whistle mechanics work fabulously well.
It has a lever in the base for switching the bird song on and off.
The movement has been oiled and is guaranteed for 1 year.
