Object Description

A Western Asiatic Bactrian stamp seal moulded from bronze. The seal features a central square cross from which four protrusions extend from each of the arms. Each are enriched with quadruped terminals, facing left with back curving horns. The reverse is unadorned and has a single loop for attachment.

Accompanied with a paper description signed by Professor W. G. Lambert, the famous Assyriologist.

Date: Circa 2300 – 2000 BC

Object Condition

Fine condition, three of the quadruped’s are now damaged due to age. Chip to loop. Encrustation and green patination covers the surface.
