Belle Époque marquise shape ruby and diamond cluster ring. Set centrally with a cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced Burmese ruby in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 1.50 carats, set to top and bottom with two cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 1.95 carats, all bordered by sixteen cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 3.30 carats and enhanced with six cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.12 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 5.37 carats, to an impressive marquise shape cluster with finely curving claws, an intricately pierced gallery and fancy open backholing, flanked by smoothly conforming shoulders which lead to a solid slim D-shape shank. Marked yellow gold with platinum settings, indistinct maker’s mark, French, circa 1910, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #78137-65.
