French antique Belle Époque style ormolu and cut-glass twelve-light chandelier
French, c. 1880
Height 120cm, diameter 70cm
The opulent yet refined design of this stunning chandelier is synonymous with the French Belle Époque style popular at the end of the 19th century.
A plethora of palm leaf shapes arms extends from the central ormolu stem of the chandelier. Below each palm tree leaf hang delicate clear cut glass droplets. Further droplets in a more ornate configuration hang from additional ormolu arms placed in between the palm tree leaves.
Towards the bottom of the chandelier is an ormolu basket concealing additional light fixtures which illuminate the construction above. Twelve Rococo style arms extends outwards and each terminated with a well designed drip pan and light. A sea of clear cut glass droplets creating a cohesive design throughout.
The chandelier will beautifully illuminate the appropriate interior space.
