Object Description
An Anglo Indian Brass Campaign Bucket.
The British Army in India were the main users of buckets such as these and so they are often referred to as Campaign Buckets.
The tapered bucket sits on a raised foot and has a brass swing handle with good brass fittings to the sides. It has a turned over rim and foot. Although utilitarian, it has multiple ring turned tramlines to the body of the bucket for decoration. There are a few dents but nothing too untoward.
Today, such buckets make useful wastepaper baskets or wine coolers. Mid to late 19th Century.
The height is given to the rim.
