Object Description
Bulgari Burmese ruby and diamond ‘Trombino’ ring. An important piece, set to centre with a cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced Burmese ruby, with an approximate weight of 4.42 carats in an open back half rubover setting, flanked by eight vertically set baguette cut diamonds in open back half rubover settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.80 carats, further set with a cluster of one hundred and six round old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 3.70 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 4.50 carats to an impressive Trombino cluster design, featuring polished edges, a finely pierced gallery with geometric metal details and intricate fancy shape open backholing, leading to broad integrated shoulders and flowing through to a solid flat shank. Tested platinum, signed ‘BVLGARI’, Italian, circa 1935, accompanied by Swiss Gemmological Institute (SSEF) report #122659 and American Gem Trade Association Gemological Testing Center report #98001311.
