Object Description
Burmese ruby and diamond cluster ring. Set with an oval old cut natural unenhanced Burmese ruby to centre in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 2.43 carats, flanked by four round brilliant cut diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 0.15 carats, further flanked by six marquise shape brilliant cut diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 1.00 carats to a shoulder motif, framed by two curving channel set tapered rows of rectangular baguette cut diamonds in open back rubover settings and further set to the far shoulders, all thirty with an approximate combined weight of 1.80 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 2.95 carats, to a slightly domed oval tapered cluster with intricate openwork throughout, to a conforming finger gallery with pierced backholing, tapering at the raised trumpeted shoulders, down to a solid D-shape shank. Tested platinum, circa 1950s, accompanied by Gubelin report 13100292.
