Object Description

Burmese sapphire and diamond ring. Set to centre with one oval old cut natural unenhanced Burmese sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 3.00 carats, flanked by two square step cut diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.80 carats, to an elegant three stone design with curving claws, a linear pierced gallery and intricately shaped open backholing, leading to raised inwardly tapering shoulders which flow through to a solid D-shape shank. Tested platinum, circa 1950, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #79197-91.

Object Condition

This ring features an incredibly rare natural unenhanced sapphire from the world-renowned old mines of Burma, which have long since been depleted. These sapphires are celebrated for their exceptional quality, with this sapphire displaying an intense, saturated midnight blue hue which is highly prized.
