Object Description
A very fine Byzantine gold ring, featuring a finely incised square bezel. The hoop band of the ring is regular, tapering in slightly before widening into two rounded sections, leading to the openwork shoulders. The central square bezel, decorated in each corner with gold pellets, has been incised with scrolling and symmetrical foliate motif. To the back of the band, a starburst motif further enriches the ring.
