Object Description

A pair of 18ct gold and diamond Maillon de Panthère earrings by Cartier c.2000s, each earring designed as a wide domed hoop formed of five rows of rectangular bricks, each set with round brilliant cut diamonds and terminated with a set of parallel line markings to represent a panther’s claw marks, to post and clip fittings. According to the Maison, Maillon de Panthère is “a famous link design named after Cartier’s emblematic animal.” The signature claw marks are a subtle but key part of this collection’s design which are only visible on close inspection. The diamonds are estimated at over three and a half carats in total and they are high quality and well matched, this is a stylish pair of earrings from what is sure to become a classic Cartier collection.
