Directors Notes
Cartier are famous for their wide array of jewelled bird brooches from the 1920s onwards, aligned with the fashions, feminine suits were becoming increasingly in vogue and jewellery houses were making beautiful brooches and pins to adorn those lapels. Cartier bird brooches are found in so many different shapes, styles, sizes and species, however the common denominator is always the exceptional quality one expects from a Cartier jewel. The gemstones in the brooches are always used creatively as focus points or interesting accents, used with the artistic flair that Cartier is so well known for. They are highly collectible and finding ones from the Art Deco era is quite difficult today.
