Object Description
Cartier diamond crossover ring. Set with two drop shape brilliant cut diamonds, one D colour, VVS2 clarity, with a weight of 1.17 carats, the other D colour, VVS1 clarity, with a weight of 1.19 carats in open back claw settings with a combined approximate weight of 2.36 carats, further decorated with one hundred and twenty six round brilliant cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 3.15 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 5.51 carats, to an impressive sinuous crossover design featuring curving claws and intricately pierced open backholing, leading to asymmetric integrated shoulders and flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, indistinct numbering to interior, indistinct maker’s mark, signed ‘CARTIER’, French, circa 1970, accompanied by Gemological Institute of America reports #2221033688 and #5222033690.
